Investing
What is Manual Buy?
Manual Buy lets you buy any amount of an asset you choose, giving you full control over your purchases. This option is popular for taking advantage of lower prices or for buying a larger amount of an asset before setting up an Auto-Buy plan. When you click "Release units," we will transfer the purchased assets to your Portfolio. From there, you can either sell them or keep them as they potentially increase in value over time.
What is Auto-Buy?
Auto-Buy automatically invests a fixed amount into an asset at regular intervals (daily, weekly, biweekly, or monthly). For example, you could automatically invest $100 in Bitcoin every week. This approach uses a proven investment strategy called Dollar-Cost Averaging. By spreading your investments over time rather than investing all at once, you reduce the impact of market volatility and potentially increase your chances of long-term gains. Recurring buy plans are ideal for long-term investors who believe in an asset's future value and want a disciplined, automated way to build their position over time. Rather than trying to time the market, you invest consistently regardless of short-term price movements, focusing on the asset's long-term potential (1-10 years).
Can I update an Auto-Buy?
Yes, you can update any existing Auto-Buy. Simply click on the purchase you want to modify and tap the "Edit" button. From there, you can change the investment amount, frequency (daily/weekly/monthly), and maturity date. Note that you cannot shorten the maturity date, but you can extend it further into the future.
If I miss a purchase in my Auto-Buy, can I manually buy it later when I fund my account?
Yes. If you miss a scheduled purchase due to insufficient funds, you can still make it up later. Simply go to the purchase history of your Auto-Buy plan, locate the missed order, and click the missed purchase button. This allows you to manually complete the missed purchase once you've added funds to your account.
What are "realized units"?
Realized units represent the actual amount of an asset you've accumulated through your purchases in a Manual Buy or Auto-Buy plan. For example, if you've invested $100 in Bitcoin when it was worth $50,000 per BTC, you would have realized 0.002 BTC units. For Auto Buy, these units are locked until your plan matures, at which point they're released to your Portfolio for you to hold, sell, or withdraw.
When an Auto-Buy matures, what can I do?
When a plan matures, your realized units will be automatically released to your Portfolio. You can access these units by navigating to the "Portfolio" tab and selecting the asset's card. Once released, you have several options: 1. HODL (Hold On for Dear Life) - Keep the asset in your Portfolio and let it potentially appreciate in value over time 2. Sell - Convert the asset back to USD at the current market rate 3. Withdraw - Transfer the crypto assets directly to an external wallet address The choice depends on your investment goals and market outlook.
What fees does Accrue charge for buying and selling assets?
Accrue has a simple fee structure. When you buy assets, we charge a 2% fee. For example, if you buy $1 worth of assets every day for 30 days, you will spend a total of $30, and our fee will be just $0.60. When you sell assets, there is a 1% fee on the total amount you sell.
What is the minimum amount of an asset that I can sell?
$0.5
How long does it take to sell an asset?
After you place an order, buying or selling cryptocurrency happens very quickly, usually within moments.

Are funds on Accrue covered?
Accrue helps you earn interest on your savings by working with trusted decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms. These partners take extra precautions to minimize risks when lending your money. They do this by requiring borrowers to provide collateral that is worth more than the amount they borrow, typically between 125% and 150%. This means that even if a borrower fails to repay their loan, your funds are still protected and accessible. However, it's important to understand that this coverage is not the same as insurance. If there are problems with the platform or technology used by these partners, there is a chance you could lose access to your savings.
Are funds on Accrue insured?
Funds on Accrue are digital assets known as stablecoins, specifically USDC and USDT. Unlike traditional bank accounts, these digital assets are not insured by government agencies like the FDIC or NDIC. This means that if something goes wrong, your funds may not be protected. While you can get insurance on money held in a bank account, that money typically earns very little interest and may even lose value over time due to inflation. It's important to understand these differences when using Accrue.
What are the risks involved in investing in digital assets with Accrue?
Partner platform risk: The assets you hold on Accrue are stored with well-known and reputable decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms. While these platforms are generally reliable, there is always a small chance that they could experience issues or fail. To protect your savings, Accrue carefully evaluates these platforms and spreads your assets across multiple options to reduce risk. Asset risk: The funds you have on Accrue are kept in stablecoins, which are digital currencies designed to maintain a stable value. The main stablecoins used are USDC and USDT. - USDC is a stablecoin that is fully backed by reserves, meaning for every USDC in circulation, there is an equivalent amount of real dollars held in reserve. It is one of the most trusted stablecoins, with over $50 billion in circulation. The company behind USDC, Circle, regularly audits its reserves and is regulated by the New York Department of Financial Services. - USDT, or Tether, is another type of stablecoin that is also pegged to the US dollar. It aims to maintain a 1:1 value with the dollar, meaning that for every USDT issued, there should be a corresponding dollar held in reserve. Tether has faced scrutiny in the past regarding its reserve practices, but it remains widely used in the crypto market for trading and transactions. Technology risk: Accrue relies on the Ethereum network, which is a widely used blockchain technology. While it is very unlikely to fail, there is still a minimal risk associated with its infrastructure.
What is my Funding Balance?
This is where the money you deposit is held. This amount here can be used to fund your plan purchases, Savings Pocket, goals, challenges, and vaults. You can withdraw your funding balance as fiat via Cashramp or on-chain as stablecoins. When you sell off an asset in your portfolio, we'll credit your funding balance.
What is my Portfolio Value?
Your Portfolio Value shows the total current value of all the investments you have in Accrue. It's different from your Funding Balance, which is the money you can immediately use for transfers or purchases.
Why is my "earning" negative?
Your earnings show the profit or loss on your investments based on current market prices. For example, if you bought 1 Bitcoin at $30,000 and the current price is $28,000, your earnings would show -$2,000 (a loss). If the price rises to $40,000, your earnings would show +$10,000 (a profit). This number updates in real-time as market prices change.
What is the 'Next of kin' feature?
The next of kin feature protects your money if something happens to you. You can: • Name a trusted person as your next of kin • Set how long your account needs to be inactive before we contact them • Ensure your funds reach your loved ones It's an important safety feature that gives you peace of mind.
What is uninvested cash?
Uninvested cash is the amount of money in your Funding Balance that you can use after covering all your Auto-Buy plans. For instance, if you have a plan to buy Bitcoin worth $50 and your total account balance is $60, you will have $10 left as uninvested cash that you can use for other purposes.
What is top-up required?
This is the amount you need to deposit to cover all your Auto-Buy plans without any issues.
What are ongoing payments?
If you have any deposits or withdrawals that are still being processed, their total amount will be displayed as "ongoing payments". You can either complete these transactions or cancel them to remove this information from view.
